In reply to <a href="https://inspiredandstrong.com/family/church#comment-385">Kristi</a>.

Thank you, Kristi. You have the most positive outlook, and I very much admire that. You are one strong woman. Keep your head up high. I love that you are taking time to enjoy your family after all of your caregiving. I appreciate your words of taking a rest and being ready for the next step. I am excited to see where life leads as well. We are so lucky to be surrounded by loving, supportive family and friends and God. Thank you for your encouragement, my dear friend! Love you and can't wait to spend some time together soon!

Stacy, I love this post and I love Christian music! For me, through my losses in life, I have felt the nearness of God even more. Tragedy and sorrow has strengthen my faith and makes me want to cling to my Savior even more. I'm glad that you know that God is always near. He gives comfort to the brokenhearted. I can totally relate to the feeling of being "lost" (as you related in your Gram post too). Since I lost my son, and my mother just 2 months later, I have felt lost. My son especially, as well as my mom were my "compass". They gave me direction in my life. There is nothing more important than being a caregiver (like you were for Gram as well) and when our loved one/s are taken from us, we grieve not only that loss of that person, but also the loss providing care to others. I felt like I should be doing "something" after this loss, but I realized through prayer, and Bible study, friends, and the Holy Spirit, that I am in my season of rest right now. I tried to take the pressure off myself (as I feel that is where you and I can relate as we are both high energy go-getters) and just rest. I was able to spend more time with family, friends, and I learned to see that as a huge blessing and knew my loved ones (as Gram would be for you) would be happy for me. I'm still trying to figure out my next step but for now I'm trying to enjoy the journey to discovering that. And of course, during this pandemic, we have all been given more time to rest and reflect and maybe this will ready us for the next step. For now, I'm taking it one day at a time. You took care of Gram so beautifully and so well, and it's your turn to rest too. Continue your faith journey...it's the most important thing you can do on this earth! Love you!
